In Los Angeles, they are shutting down the 405 freeway for three whole days in order to remove a bridge that needs to be demolished. The media aptly named such an event "Carmageddon", being LA and all it needed to very dramatic.
Reallity is, 53 hours is a lifetime for most people in LA. Can you imagine a major artiry in any city being shut down and not really knowing come monday morning whether or not your commute to work is going to be absolute hell or not? Believe me, there was reason for this event to be called Carmageddon.
